Peterston Tea Ltd

Peterston tea was one of the first commercial tea farms in the UK producing award winning 100% single estate tea and kombucha.

All of the tea and fruit is grown organically (soil association certified).  A combination of growing techniques are used to produce the tea, to create the right micro climate for the tea plants - they need shelter from harsh winds as well as shade from scorching sun rays in the Summer. That is where agroforestry comes in - a system of growing both trees and horticultural crops on the same land to conserve, diversify and sustain natural resources.

A wide range of fruiting plants and trees are planted at Peterston alongside Sichuan pepper and nitrogen fixing trees and shrubs, creating the right environment for the tea plants whilst in parallel creating habitats for birds, mammals, insects and micro-organisms to flourish.  

All of the tea is handpicked and processed in small, unblended batches. Our kombucha is made on the farm from our own tea and fruit which is harvested seasonally.

Tea Tastings, Tours and Workshop events are also offered throughout the year, these need to be booked in advance, and further details can be found on the website.
